Real Estate Content Generation. The Open Door.

As 1000watt said in their recent post, “Real estate content is a marketing goldmine. But those closest to it seem unable to pick up a shovel.”

I agree.

I’m not sure what the hangup is, but I hear many agents struggling to get business and yet there is an incredible opportunity in Colorado Springs to connect with your people, generate trust, build relationships, and ultimately help people make better decisions about their living.

From a blog post from the Geek Estate Blog178 million people watched 33.2 billion videos in the month of December alone, with the average user watching 187 videos per month in the U.S. (and these are numbers from 2009). Also, from a really cool Infographic in a Mashable Article entitled, “Are We Too Obsessed With Facebook,” a record breaking 750 Million photos were uploaded to Facebook over New Year’s Weekend.

Do see a trend here? Why are we obsessed with videos and pictures? Because they tell stories. Stories about life, stories about cool kitchens that my wife wants to have, stories about a couple finding a place to call home, stories about the smokin’ deal around the corner.

Kinda like what Donny Coram is doing with video and Foreclosures. Kinda like what Hannah Parsons is doing with pictures and her cool urban clients. Kinda like what Laurie Stahle is doing with Bad MLS Photos on Facebook.

And as 1000watt says, “We have argued before that every real estate brokerage and brand should think of itself as a media company. That’s not easy, of course. But it’s necessary.”

Yes, it is not easy. But yes, it is necessary.

Are you ready to open the door to connecting with your people?
